You can create a legacy to help ensure the Library will be enjoyed by generations to come. Remembering the DC Public Library through a legacy gift to the Foundation is a meaningful way to make a lasting contribution to the Library while taking advantage of federal and state tax laws.
Your gift can reduce your income taxes including capital gains, and reduce transfer taxes including gift and estate. You can also still provide for your heirs when you choose to support the DC Public Library Foundation with a legacy gift. By including the Foundation in your will or estate plan, you can help ensure that the District’s libraries will always be an important resource for the community.
If you have a specific purpose in mind, please contact the Foundation’s Executive Director at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at (202) 727-4943. Before supporting a particular program, it is crucial to make sure that the Foundation understands and can fulfill your specific wishes.*This information is provided for your reference only and is not intended as legal or financial advice. We strongly recommend you consult a qualified legal or financial advisor before making a bequest.
Please feel free to contact us with your donation questions via email at email@example.com, or by phone at (202) 727-4943.
Workplace giving campaigns allow you to donate by spreading out payroll deductions over the course of a year. Most campaigns begin in the Fall so be sure to look for the “District of Columbia Public Library Foundation” in your organization’s campaign materials. If the Foundation is not listed, look for a special “Donor Option” on the pledge form where you can write in the DC Public Library Foundation’s name.

Many employers will match charitable donations made by their employees. The DCPL Foundation welcomes, and regularly receives matching gifts from employers. If your company has such a program, or is willing to offer one, send your donation with any required forms and we will submit any needed documentation.
