Facility Improvements

In recent years, the Foundation has worked closely with the Library to improve collections and services – and now to renovate and build new libraries.  In addition to administering funds for donor specified branches, the Foundation has provided indoor and outdoor enhancements to branch libraries and the creation of specialized rooms.

 

Funds for Facility Improvements

  • Creation of mural and purchase of original art for children’s room at MLK
  • Funded a “Teen Scene” at MLK library
  • Palisades: Provided landscaping and outdoor signage
  • Funded children’s room murals for Lamond-Riggs Branch Library
  • Stewards funds for improvements to the following branches:
    • Francis Gregory
    • Woodridge
    • RL Christian
    • Tenley
    • Lamond Riggs
    • Georgetown
    • Palisades
    • Mt. Pleasant
    • Southeast
    • West End
